If your touchpad has stopped working, it is likely that the disable trackpad button on the keyboard has been pressed. This would remain disabled between reboots until the enable/disable function is pressed again.
To enable or disable the trackpad, press the F10 key
Note: If function lock is enabled, you will need to press Fn + F10.
